Manchester United Close To Agreeing Deal For Dutch Midfielder

Manchester United are believed to be close to signing PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman.

In a report on the Mirror website, the reigning Premier League champions have lodged a £15 million bid for the 22 year-old, described as the ‘new Roy Keane’.

Strootman, who captains the Dutch giants is thought to have been on United’s radar for a number of months, with club scouts rumoured to have watched him twelve times this season.

The deep laying midfielder is a regular for the Dutch national side, keeping Nigel de Jong out of the team.

Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be a keen admirer of the combative midfielder, with the Manchester United boss hoping to bolster his squad in the summer.

With question marks surrounding the long term future of veteran midfielder Paul Scholes and the long-term absence of Anderson through injury, it appears as though Strootman is an ideal acquisition.

Kevin Strootman is the vice captain PSV Eindhoven. A young player that been entrusted to lead a big club in Netherland.  Surely then he is a player with potential. He is also dubbed as new Roy Keane. Again it put weigh in the consideration for Man United to sign him. After Keane retirement Man United is struggling to find the new enforcer.

There was report saying that Man United  are preparing a £15 million deal for the PSV Eindhoven midfielder. The 22 years old Dutchman was said to be in good form for his club and country lately. He was regular for PSV where he was already played 24 match in Eredivisie where he had two goals and nine assist. In Europa league he scored three and recorded six assists.  For his country Strootman has appeared in 10 of Netherlands’ last 11 games. This mean he  has kept Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong on the bench.

For me De Jong is among the best defensive midfielder in BPL. A player who has been doing the donkey work superbly at Man City. He and Arsenal's Alex Song are the best. So to keep De Jong at the bench is something.

However I would always prefer Jack Rodwell. He is much senior at BPL. Strootman may have the difficulty to adjust at BPL.
