United 2012 Transfer Window

No Big Names

Fans were waiting Ferguson move to sign new players especially in the midfield area to solve the so called midfield crisis. It was very unlikely for Ferguson to sign any players as it was not his style to bring new players in January. And most people were hoping this time big names will arrive on January. Sneijder name again been mention and talk on the street. But Ferguson stick to style. However Ferguson did sell some players and brought in a player from his neighbour.

OUT

Darron Gibson

Facing difficulties to establish himself in the main squad. Though performed brilliantly whenever he played and scored some important goals, his appearances in main squad were limited. Had powerful shot that became his trademark and also main weapon. His weakness maybe in defensive duty. But he is now a hero at Everton after scoring a beautiful winning goal against Manchester City. The goal also lifted his name at Old Trafford.

Mame Biram Diouf

The Senegalese international joined Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 for undisclosed fee. After joining United in June 2009 he barely made any impact. He making just nine appearances and scoring only a goal for two years he spent at Old Trafford.

Ravel Morrison

Said to be one of gifted player that emerged from United academy since Paul Scholes. Ferguson said to be last man at United that gave up hope on the talented attacking player. While his talents on the field never been doubted the off pitch problems had cost his place in United team.

"He simply couldn’t be tamed, despite all the chances he was given. Whether it’s absenteeism, intimidating victims of street robberies or throwing his girlfriend’s phone out of a window; Morrison has showed no signs that he has learned"

He joined West Ham United on deadline day in a deal reportedly worth £650,000, which could raise £2 million based on the midfielder's performances. However the interesting part was sold without including a buy-back clause in the deal.

Ferguson showed regret whenever he sells his talented young players.  Giuseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique, Chris Eagles and Ryan Shawcross are among players that Ferguson reluctantly sold. Recently Ferguson openly admitted that he regretted over sale of Shawcross. Rossi was reported been sold with buy back clause.

IN

Frederic Veseli

Frederic Veseli signed for Manchester United from local rivals Manchester City in a deadline day deal.

The 19-year-old defender, who arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer, will begin his United career with the Reserves, but may get opportunities in the first team with Nemanja Vidic out for the remainder of the season and Rio Ferdinand struggling to stay fit.

Veseli joined Manchester City in 2008, but failed to make a senior appearance in his time at the club. In 2009, he captained the Swiss side that won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. - http://bleacherreport.com
