Carling Cup: Leeds 0-3 United

Second Stringer United Ease Through

This is the competition where Sir Alex will test his youngsters. But last night it was the old guards with vast experience who in the battle with their former arch rival. The formation was a little bit surprising with Carrick as the central defender been partner by almost unknown youngster named Fryers while Valencia was the rightback. Fabio made the last back four on the left. In the midfield were Ji Sung Park and Giggs, flanked by Macheda on the left and Mame Diouf as right winger. Twin strikers were Owen and Berbatov. As we could see here it was very offensive line up. The midfielders were all forwards. Also both fullbacks.

Leeds was not match for United last night. They were never a threat to United. Owen true as a great goal poacher gave United the first goal. Attacking from the right Berbatov passed the ball to on the run Ji Sung Park who well aware the position of Owen. A quick passed to Owen who used his experience to free himself then placed his shot to beat the goal keeper. The second one also from Owen who collected a  pass from Diouf then as versatile striker he unleashed a piledriver  to  top corner. But the best  came from Giggs. Again from Ji Sung Park  assist. Giggs received the ball from the left corner then burst straight towards Leeds six yards box. Then suddenly from out side his favourite left foot he shot and gave United third goal.

But the moment I was waiting for was the introducing of Paul Pogba. He is very high rated by Sir Alex that he refused to loan the midfielder. Pogba said to have great vision, excellent skills and superb ball distributions. Well after seeing him played for 45 minutes I could not agree more with interesting stories regarding him. He tackle well, he read the game accurately and he is very energetic. He is box to box player. Another interesting thing was the return of Welbeck. After losing Hernandez in Chelski game Sir Alex is still a lot of great strikers.
